To avoid bad luck one will have to talk to the red-haired person before they leave. If someone says good luck to you while you are about to set sail then this will be automatic bad luck and you will need to reverse it for an assurance of getting back to the dock safely, in order to reverse this you will need to draw some blood or at times make a swift punch in the nose and all will be okay. These are strange ancient superstitions that will not be true in this day and age!
