What does 13:13 mean on the clock?

So you are a little worried, because 13 is supposed to make you unlucky and it keeps following you around on clocks. This is a sign, not of crazy stuff about to happen but that things are changing in life. Things are beginning.

I remember how it began for me. I had a really crap year. The kind that you wake up and are immediately tired again then bang, 13:13 is staring at me and I am like "oh no" that must be unlucky. You go through the motions, nothing actually happens.

The next day, I kept seeing 13:13. On my phone and on n the microwave. I once was on a parking ticket where it felt like the universe was taking the micky. That meant something bad was coming, I thought. Because that is what we are taught is it? 13 is unlucky or 13 is cursed. So yeah, Friday the 13th and all that. Nothing bad happened, instead, things started breaking apart. Which sounds bad, but was not. The job I hated? Gone. That relationship I was holding onto even though it was making me miserable? Gone. That version of myself who was trying to be everything everyone else wanted? Gone.

I was mad at first! Because none of it came from me, I just wanted things to get better and not blow up completely. But if you look back, that's what 13 did. That's what 13 was telling me. That stuff should go. You know it has got to go. Just stop pretending that it does. So what does 13:13 actually mean then?

It means something 's ending so something else can start. And, 12 is the complete number, for example 12 months or 12 hours, remember the 12 apostles. Everything neat and tidy. And then 13 comes along and messes it up. Goes one past the ending. Breaks the pattern. That's uncomfortable isn't it…. As humans we like patterns. We like knowing what comes next. If you add 1+3+1+3 you get 8. And 8 is power, it is abundance. Things coming back around. So underneath all the chaos of 13 there's this energy of things working out eventually. You just have to get through the breaking apart first.

What does it mean when you see 13:13 in the afternoon?

That's 1:13 pm. Past lunch. The morning 's definitely over. You're in the afternoon now whether you wanted to be or not. I see 1:13 pm when I'm holding onto something that's already finished. Going through the motions of a thing that ended ages ago.

I did that with a job once. Stayed for months after I'd mentally quit. Dragging myself in every morning thinking I'm able to barely lift my head let alone face this place without crying. But I stayed because I didn't know what else to do. Because leaving felt scarier than being miserable. 13:13 in the afternoon is saying it's done love. You know it's done. Stop pretending.

What does it mean when you see 1:13 at night?

I think 1:13 am is different. It could be the time you went to bed, or laying in bed, or maybe woke up at this time. Let’s not forget it is the middle of the night, everyone else asleep. Just you and whatever thoughts come out when there's nothing left to distract you. I used to lie awake in that hour writing in journals. Pages and pages of the same stuff, him and me. Us. When will he love me properly….when will things change. I was describing the problem over and over instead of actually doing anything about it. So I call this the churn hour. The hour when you are thinking about stuff, but not actually doing anything about it. If you're seeing 1:13 alot, something 's processing. Something 's working on you in the dark. The question is whether you're going to keep writing the same sentences forever or actually do something different.

What does 13:13 mean for love?

Here's the thing about 13 and love. It's not easy. 13 in love means something 's transforming. Either the relationship is about to go deeper or it's about to end. One or the other, not in my view staying the same. I saw 13:13 constantly before my relationship ended, in the death tarot card. And I didn't want to see it. I thought it meant we were about to have a breakthrough. That we'd come out stronger.

But actually it meant I needed to stop, stop riding the same loop. The ride slows down and speeds up but the landscape never changes. I was like Jack Nicholson in the Shining typing the same sentence over and over. Does he love me enough. Does he love me enough. Does he love me enough. All that work and I wasn't getting anywhere. Just the same question. The same anxiety and the same empty feeling in the morning. The number 13:13 was saying let go. Not because he was terrible, just because it was finished and I was the only one who hadn't noticed.

What if you're single and seeing 13:13?

Then maybe it's time to stop making love the thing that's going to save you. I spent years thinking if I could just find the right person everything else would fall into place. I wouldn't have to figure out who I was. I could hide behind him instead. But when you're depressed and needing love… life doesn't save you, it buries you. You get the relationship and you're still sad, still stuck. Still writing the same pages in your journal. For me, 13:13 for single people might be saying: stop thinking like Oliver Twist asking for more. Stop waiting to be rescued. Fill up that space with something else. Anything else. Learn to cook. Train for something. Read books by writers you've never heard of. It'll feel pointless. Do it anyway. Figure out what's bigger than them. What's bigger than being loved. That's the transformation 13 is asking for.

What does 13:13 mean for twin flames?

Twin flames are transformative connections. 13 is the transformation number. Makes sense they'd go together. I think 13:13 in twin flame stuff means you're in the hard bit. The bit where the connection is breaking you open and you're not sure you want to be broken open. But here's what I've learned. You can't just wait around for your twin flame to show up and fix everything. You can't make them your obsession. Your project. The thing you think about instead of actually living your life. If you're in separation and seeing 13:13, the separation is doing something. You're supposed to be changing, becoming someone. Not just waiting. The reunion can't happen until the transformation does. And the transformation doesn't happen if you're sitting there drawing the same question mark over and over.

What does 13:13 mean in the bible?

Now 13 gets a bad reputation because Judas was the 13th at the last supper. The betrayer. But 1 Corinthians 13 is the love chapter. Love is patient love is kind. The whole thing about love being bigger than everything else. So 13 in the bible is complicated. From what I have read it is betrayal and also love. endings and Beginnings. Things falling apart and coming back together. I think that's right actually. 13 holds both. the breaking and The rebuilding. You don't get one without the other.

What's all the folklore about 13?

Hotels skip the 13th floor, airlines skip row 13 so naturally veryone acts like 13 is cursed. But before all that, 13 was sacred. There are 13 lunar cycles in a year. Women's bodies follow that rhythm. 13 was the divine feminine. Intuition. Cycles. Knowing things without being able to explain how. I think 13 got demonised because people got scared of that. The feminine. The cyclical. The stuff that can't be controlled. I also think that 13:13 doesn't care about any of that though. It just keeps showing up asking you to let go.

What does 13:13 mean for work?

Something probably needs to end. I see 13:13 around work when people are staying in jobs that stopped fitting ages ago. Hanging on because they don't know what else to do. I did that. I was miserable every morning but too scared to leave. 13:13 kept showing up and I kept ignoring it. Eventually the job ended anyway. Not on my terms. But it ended. And looking back I think 13:13 was trying to tell me to get out before it got worse. I just wasn't listening.

What does 13:13 mean for money?

In my view, the old beliefs are dying. The ones about not deserving things. About money being hard. About good stuff not being allowed to stay. 13:13 around money is saying those stories can go now. You don't have to keep thinking like someone who doesn't get to have things. Think like someone who takes what they want. Think like a merciless visionary. The outside stuff changes after the inside stuff does. That's how it works.

What should you do when you see 13:13?

Ask yourself what needs to end. I know, its a bit arsh. But that's what 13 is about. Transformation. And transformation needs something to die first. What are you holding onto that's already finished? What are you pretending is still alive? What would you let go of if you weren't so scared of what comes after? And then do something. Don't just sit there describing the problem for another decade like I did. Don't settle for sad. Don't settle for stuck. Power down your phone, go outside. And, do something arbitrary that makes no sense. It doesn't matter what. Just break the pattern. 13:13 keeps showing up because something in you is ready to change. Even if the rest of you is terrified. The ending is the beginning. They're the same thing really.
