Colors and Meditation Correspondences

The energy of the Throat chakra emanates as blue and it is balanced out with the color of orange. The opposite of the Sacral chakra, you again can visualize the sun over water, either at sunset or sunrise. Because the emanating color of this chakra is blue, you will want to focus on cooling waters. If there is too much energy, your brain will want to turn the sky red. Allow instead your mind to focus on the cooling blue waters, settling in and calming. There are no waves, just blue, deep water that absorbs the solar energy, heating from within slowly until it becomes the perfect temperature around you. The focus of this chakra is inspiration and creativity, thus you want to be aware of your feelings as much as your surroundings.

The Balance of the Chakra

When there is an excess of energy within this chakra, you can often spot this person out because they are talking too much and often appear socially awkward. This is because an excess of energy in the Throat chakra is directly related to speaking. It presents in people differently but often you will notice speaking too loud or boisterously along with being unable to keep your thoughts still and you concentrate on what to say next, rather than listening to the other part of the conversation.

A lack of energy in this chakra can result in extreme social introversion, shyness and being quiet. For a person who is already introversive in nature, this can be linked with depression and introverts naturally often have to be mindful of this chakra. That being said, extreme extroverts that need to bring themselves back to center when in public may want to spend additional time. The affirmation of this chakra is all about creating through words. Practice in the arts of poetry and writing is a good way to practice and a spiritual practice representation of this chakra is through keeping a prayer, dream or ritual journal. The act of writing down thoughts allows you to center the energy within the physical confines of day to day life.

A simple and easy way to create focus on this chakra, imbuing with natural awareness energy, is through creation. Art is an excellent way to balance out this chakra, with painting as an ideal practice. The balance of the fluidity of the paint, mixing the colors and feeling the flow of the brush to paper in a rhythmic way will likely help to enhance your visualizations. Consider painting and creating your own blue water with the sun above, balancing the top and bottom of your paper with the corresponding colors.
