Solar Plexus Chakra

Solar Plexus Chakra

Uncover hidden spiritual meanings

This Chakra deals with confidence and our ability to be in control of our lives.

The Solar Plexus chakra is in the same space as the muscle it is named after, near the stomach. With emotional issues like self-worth and self-esteem falling in its domain, this chakra is visceral. Gut feelings, how you feel about yourself, and corresponding intuitions about the world around you are all managed within the Solar Plexus chakra. It can determine how attached you are to yourself and your environment, often representing how one defines themselves in the day to day world.

Attributes of the Solar Plexus Chakra

  • Crystals: Citrine and Tiger’s Eye
  • Location on the Body: Solar Plexus
  • Affirmations: “To do, to act…”

Colors and Meditation Correspondences

The energy of the Solar Plexus chakra emanates as yellow and it is balanced out with the color of violet. A good meditation for this color visualization is that of geometric shapes, melding the shape of one color into another of the balancing. If you feel excessive amounts of energy coming from this chakra, consider a balancing shape, a circle and allow them to come together, one yellow and one violet. Merge the two like a venn diagram in your mind, so that you are able to see the merging colors in the internal melding point with the outside of the circles remaining vibrant orange and violet.

The Balance of the Solar Plexus Chakra

When there is an excess of energy within this chakra, a person may notice feelings of a competitive or hyper nature in some, others it is more aggressive and can be seen as domineering or pushy.  An excess in this area can be good for short term goals, when you need to finish up a project or get the extra push to figuratively rev your engines.

The best practices for maintaining a healthy energy balance within the chakra is through action. Another tool to balance the energy is breathing and vibration. Breath controls the voice and so by vibrating a mantra, it can be extremely helpful for this chakra. Try vibrating the word “Awe” in slow 10 seconds bursts, three times each. Feel the word in your mind and clearly enunciate through an open mouth. This can increase the flow of the energy. This can give your Solar Plexus chakra a boost that you need in the moment.

That being said, this chakra invigoration can work like sugar to your diet. You have a reaction and then you can crash. A lack of energy in this chakra can result in decreased sense of purpose, low self value or esteem. You may notice feeling slow or unmotivated mentally, however, physically, you may feel like you need to do something but you don’t know what. Unlike other chakras that repress energy in the physical body when the spiritual flow is depleted, the Solar Plexus can result in twitchiness or unintended body movements. Some say that there are notable similarities between bi-polar disorders and other duality defined mental health issues and the natural balancing act of the Solar Plexus chakra. If you have one of these disorders, it is good to focus and spend extra energy on this chakras.

Because this chakra can require personal inspiration for the energies to flow freely, it is a good practice to create something for yourself at least once a month. This can be represented in the acts of budgeting, meal planning, scheduling and other routine self-care practices. The affirmation for this chakra is to do and to act. The only way to familiarize yourself with routine is through practice. Working on the mundane or spiritual, keeping a tally on what you accomplish can be an efficient way to manifest natural energy into the chakra flow of the Solar Plexus.
