Dill is a member of the parsley family and also goes by the name Aneton, Dill weed, Dilly and Garden Dill.
It is masculine in gender and is associated with the power of the planet Mercury and with the element Fire. Dill seed may be used as incense and is considered appropriate for burning in certain love spells. It is also used for friendship, mental clarity and restfulness. In Shamanism, Dill seeds are tossed onto burning coals and the smoke is blown around to pacify and calm spirits that are agitated and angry.
