Cumin, is part of the parsley family.
It's part of the family calle Apiaceae which is a plant found in the eastern Mediterranean. The Greeks kept Cumin within the dining room table like we do with our salt and pepper.
Cumin is of masculine gender and is associated with the power of the planet Mars and the element Fire. Protection, Fidelity, Exorcism and Anti-Theft are claimed to be its powers.

Cumin seeds are known to bring good fortune and luck. First, it is claimed to protect one from evil by pushing misfortune away. It also expels negative spirits. Second, it is also claimed to bring about fidelity and loyalty in one’s lover and partner. Cumin seeds being used for the purpose of protecting one from evil energies will be mixed in a one to one (1:1) proportion with Kosher Salt. Then, walking backward, one will sprinkle the mixture of seeds and salt around one’s residence or place of business. This has the effect of keeping evil away from one’s home or place of business. It also deflects bad luck. Other people also claim that by sprinkling Cumin seeds under the bed, your partner will remain loyal and faithful. You will only be the one in his mind and heart. No other person!
