This herb originates in Mexico that is considered valuable, this is popular along the texes boarder where brujeria and curandismo have mingled with hoodoo rootwork.
It originated in Chile and Peru and evidence suggests that it has been used since about 10,000 years ago. According to myths, Boldo was accidentally discovered by a Chilean shepherd who found that his sheep were healthier after eating Boldo leaves.
Since then, it has been used as an herbal medicine, especially in treating liver, bowel and gallbladder problems. It is also modernly used as a cooking spice.
It is commonly used in magic to repel and keep away evil spirits, bad customers, unruly people and even diseases.
Magical uses
Boldo leaves may also be used to get rid of stalkers. A banishing solution is made by grinding Boldo leaves and combining it with chilli powder, sulphur powder and asafoetida. The mixture is then added to arrowroot powder and mixed. Sprinkle the mixture in the path of the stalker to make him or her stop pursuing you. In addition, sprinkle it on any area of entry into your house or workplace such as windows, doors or any place that you sense may be vulnerable to entry.

People who manage public establishments such as bars, restaurants and houses of prostitution believe that if you sprinkle Boldo leaves around the floor of the rooms once a week will help ward off bad customers and those who carry sicknesses and illnesses. Boldo leaves can be soaked in hot water to make a tea, which may be sprinkled or drank. Sprinkle on the floor to keep away evil and for protection. It may also be mixed with other herbs use for protection such as Broom, Corn, Hyssop, Rue or Agrimony to enhance its strength and potency.
Other uses of Boldo leaves are incense for calming, spiritual cleansing and harmony. When burned, it smells of slightly mint. The incense creates an atmosphere of peace and harmony and is great for the body and mind. It has a relaxing effect that promotes sleep and strengthens the nerves. Some smoke Boldo leaves to stabilize themselves and bring themselves back to their center.
