Ocean

Ocean

Ocean dream meaning

In all my spiritual work, I believe water is about emotions. This can be in a biblical context or spiritual. Therefore, to me, when one is full of emotions which are deep and strong like the tides.

Dreaming of water but more particularly the Ocean is one of the most common symbols noted that humans have the most often. This is because we are primarily made of water and the strongest containment of this element is the Ocean. There is nothing more beautiful and intense as well as potentially terrifying as this giant body of water.

  • Seeing the ocean is about emotions the murkey water indicates problems clear water good things are coming.
  • Fallen off a boat into the ocean with the feeling of drowning symbolizing a metaphorical drowning in all of the emotions of your life.
  • Experienced a tidal wave about to crash into you. Tidal waves are common illustrations of intense stress or worry that literally slaps into you and devastates. When this happens, it is best to try to sort out your feelings as fast as you can.
  • Survived a tidal wave from the ocean good things are coming.
  • Saved others from drowning in the ocean then somene is going to ask.
  • If you fell off the boat, you decided to swim comfortably with the animals of the ocean, thus showing your ability to thrive in any environment as well as to accept your emotions for what they are.
  • Swimming in the ocean means things are going to be calmer in the future.

What does the ocean mean in a dream?

In my view, dreaming of being at sea or stranded in an ocean indicates feeling at loss with your emotions or that you are not grounded. This can indicate that you are needing to have more solid footing in your life. When you have these types of dreams it can also indicate that your desires are out of touch with reality in the waking life.

For Men: Men are stereo typically challenged when it comes to feeling or becoming comfortable with the expression of emotions. They therefore have the most likeliness to have to push through these kinds of dreams, simply because they have no other outlet. When this happens, the man must become one with the problem at hand so that he can stop drowning in the Ocean of inverted emotions. Expression, of any kind, is going to help...preferably productive expression.

For Women: Women are on the whole intuitive creatures and while it is not as difficult for them to express their emotions, they do get just as caught up in them when things go wrong. Usually this is as a result of doing too much and so they need to take care to handle their emotions in a constructive manner which will make it so that their needs are vocalized and not internalized.

What does it mean to look at the ocean?

In virtually all mystery school traditions, the shoreline denotes the line between the known self and the unconscious  (between what you know) and what is unknown. Standing at the shore and not entering is not fear. It is discernment. I do feel in this dream you are shown the edge of something huge and asked whether you want to cross into deeper transmission.

What does it mean to be pulled under in the dream?

It's one of the most misread dreams. Most dream books call it a nightmare about losing control. My older folklore books say it is quite different. In Hermetic practice, to be under the water means to dissolve, you're not drowning. This was what the Rosicrucians I mentioned above called death before illumination.

What does calm, still water mean in a dream?

In my teachings you must never mistake stillness for safety or darkness for danger. Still dark water in dream terms is about reflection. The Pythagoreans believed that prophetic dreams came through water, and that the dark mirror of still water was the earliest scrying surface known to man. If you see this in a dream, lay still once you awake.

What does waves mean in a dream?

The direction of the waves matters a lot. I feel, waves heading your direction signify mean transmission, information, energy or influence from outside. You can tell by the size of the wave how large it is in the dream. According to the old Arabic dream tradition of Ta'bir, a single large wave approaching a single figure is a message of the unseen. So, I think something will reveal itself.

What does being in the ocean in a dream mean?

This is an easy meaning it means you aren't fighting the transmission. Now you're part of it.

What does murky or polluted water mean in a dream?

I do feel that this means something has been polluted your thoughts/mind. The corruption of the prima materia (the pure spiritual substance) in old alchemical texts meant that the water was impure. This is a diagnostic dream. It is saying what you are receiving is coming from a compromised medium. This could be unresolved grief, outside psychic interference or just the noise of a life lived too loudly. The tradition says you must fast, be quiet and cleanse before you try to receive again.

What does it mean to dream of a tsunami or flood?

To dream about a flood in my spiritual work means a total clearing is either coming or is necessary. Chaldean astrologers related flood dreams to Neptune and our inner and outer structures that have outlived their usefulness.

This dream is in association with the following scenarios in your life...

  • Emotional upheavals.
  • Divorces/Relationship endings.
  • Friend/Family frustrations.
  • Busy life concerns.

Feelings that you may have encountered during a dream of the ocean...

Comfort. Sensation. Emotional. Frustrated. Afraid. Unknowing. Loving. Compassionate. Clear. Communicative. Happy. Content. In Love. Intuitive. Present. Free flowing. Adaptable. Strong.
