Leopard
Leopard Dream Meaning
Did you know that allot of the time in the wild leopards HIDE. So, my first question to you is what are you hiding from?
Seeing a leopard attacking you in a dream means difficulties ahead, mainly because of your lack of confidence. If in your dream you kill a leopard, this is a good sign for your business deals. If the leopard is in a cage, this refers to the fact that your enemies will fail to harm you, despite the fact that they all over you. Dreaming about leopards in a savannah running away from you foretells that you might be embarrassed in business or ashamed in your love affairs, but you can overcome these issues through perseverance and ambition. If you dream of a leopard’s skin means that a mean and dishonest person will become your friend and will put you in danger.
Maybe you have got all this power tucked away that you're not using. The most crazy fact that I have read about leopards is that they can literally carry their body weight up a tree. So, they only appear when we need to look inside, in our inner child. We all know that the ancient Egyptians knew that the spots on a leopard represented spiritual levels in life. There is so many different dreams that you may have that involve a leopard. Pink leopard, one chasing you, one as a pet, a bab one. I will try to cover them all below.
What does it generally mean to see a leopard in a dream?
I have covered quite a bit already. Here are some more dream meanings of the leopard from my older books. I read that if your dream contains a leopard or any big cat in a safari, then this means you are uniquely equipped to deal with cruelty and aggression. This dream involves ubiquitous activity, and therefore things are of significance, depending upon where the leopard appeared in your dream, and if you had a feeling that this would be a threat to you. If the leopard is untamed and it presents no threat to you, then it refers to a feeling of instability and deviousness in your life.
In Welsh folklore dreaming about a leopard can foretell that you will travel abroad. The trip can be full of dangers. If the leopard attacks you, this is the sign of betrayal. A leopard walking in your dream suggests that some problems will pop up, but they are solvable. A leopard can foretell that some dangers are on the watch.
To dream of a leopard attacking you is a prophecy that you will have to face some tough times. To dream that you scare or kill the animal, it means you will fulfill your ambitions, and you will make more money in the future. Dreams about this animal predicting trouble related to an acquaintance that likes to gossip. The leopard also portends that you will be able to relax and enjoy some rest soon. If you see a leopard in your dream, this can refer to a bad, jealousy, malicious and hostile woman coming into your life. If you see an agitated leopard, you probably have unfulfilled sexual desires. A leopard attacking means big inner turmoil.
Dreaming about a female leopard sleeping with her cub means peace, reconciliation, and happiness. If the leopard in your dream is being trained, it suggests that you have a personality inclined to adventure. Seeing a starving leopard foretells good luck at work. Dreaming about a leopard in a cage could refer to a victory against your enemies. If the leopard in your dream is in a jungle, this means you have strong emotions at the moment. A quiet and peaceful leopard tells that you are defeated, but that the truth will clear by itself soon. If the leopard is wounded, it means you are in a confusing situation at the moment.
Dreaming about a leopard withdrawing indicates that you will you gain success in your relationship with someone who creates problems. If the leopard jumps on you, this means that your enemy is ready to attack you. Seeing a leopard in your dream can portend brutality, and sadistic sexual relations.
What if the leopard in my dream was chasing me?
Being chased in dreams is the worst. Here's what I've figured out though. When something chases you in a dream you're usually running from something in regular life too, not literally running. But avoiding. Pretending it's not there. I mean, hoping if you ignore it long enough, it'll go away. It never goes away though does it. So think about it. What have you been dodging lately?
That leopard chasing you, could be your own strength. Some people are scared of their own power. I was for a long time. I got told so many times to tone it down and be smaller and stop being so much. So when my inner leopard started waking up I didn't know what to do with it. Felt dangerous somehow. Or maybe the leopard is a person. Someone who makes you feel hunted. Someone who watches you in a way that feels wrong.
There is no way you can't outrun a leopard. They're way faster than you. Whatever you're running from is going to catch up eventually. The dream might be saying stop. Turn around. Look at it. You might be more ready than you think you are. I had been chased for weeks in a dream once. Same thing over and over. Finally, in one dream, I just stopped running. Turned around. And the thing behind me wasn't as scary face-to-face. It actually had something to give me. Weird how that works. The person (not leopard) in my dream was just calm. Sitting there. Watching me. What's that about?
Oh that's totally different. That's not a threat. That's a presence. A calm leopard watching you is something powerful saying I see you. Not in a creepy way. In an acknowledgment way. Like two beings recognizing each other. Some people would call this a spirit animal or guide showing up. I don't know exactly what I believe about all that but I know this. When a powerful animal appears in your dream and just sits there peacefully something important is happening. It's not trying to hurt you. It might actually be protecting you.
Or it might be showing you who you could become. This is your potential just chilling there waiting for you to catch up to it. Patient, and oh so not rushing you. Just watching to see what you'll do. The other thing I need to say is to think about how you felt in the dream. Were you scared anyway even though it was calm? That might mean your own possibilities intimidate you. You see what you could be and it's kind of terrifying.
Were you peaceful too? Did it feel familiar somehow? That might mean you're ready. Ready for whatever comes next. Ready to stop playing small. Did you look it in the eyes? In real life you don't make eye contact with predators. That's a challenge. But in dreams eye contact can mean connection. Understanding.
What leopard spots mean in a dream?
Did you know that very leopard has different spots. Like completely unique. No two leopards have the same pattern anywhere ever. So spots can mean individuality. The things that make you YOU and nobody else. Your dream might be saying hey there stop trying to blend in. Stop trying to look like everyone else thinks you should look. Your spots are yours, own them. Even the weird ones. Especially the weird ones.
Some African traditions connected leopard spots to stars. Like the night sky painted onto an animal. So this could be a sort of sign from the universe. The spots might also be about all that stuff in life that you want to forget but that creeps in our thoughts. Leopards use their spots to disappear into shadows and trees. Camouflage. But in your dream maybe the spots stood out. Glowed even.
What's been hidden that's ready to be seen now?
What have you been hiding that wants to come out? The spots might be telling you to blend in for a while. Protect yourself, not everything needs to be on display for everybody. Were they normal spots? Black on gold? Or weird colors? Purple glowing or moving around? Write down the details. Dreams get creative when they're trying to grab your attention and the weird parts might matter most.
I dreamed I WAS the leopard, what does that mean?
I've had dreams like this. Not a leopard but becoming something else. And it hits different. You don't forget it. This probably means you're connecting with leopard energy in yourself. The strength. The patience. The ability to wait for exactly the right moment and then strike.
I think this is your internal child - yes, a deeper self showing you what's possible when you quit holding back. When you stop saying sorry for existing. When you move through the world like you actually belong there.
Because you do. Belong there, I mean. Did it feel like too much? Like more power than you knew what to do with? That makes sense too. I've been afraid of my own strength before. Seen what happens when power goes wrong. Didn't trust myself with it. But the dream gave you that experience for a reason. It wanted you to know what it feels like from the inside. You can't un-know it now. You tasted it. Some people would say you carry leopard medicine now. When you need courage you can remember that dream. When you need patience you can recall how the leopard waited. That memory is yours to use.
Does it matter what the leopard was doing? Like hunting or sleeping or climbing? Yeah it matters a lot actually. Hunting means focused energy. Locked onto a target. What are you going after right now? What do you want so bad you can feel it? The dream might be teaching you how to pursue it. Patient. Strategic. Not rushing. Waiting for the exact right moment then boom.
Sleeping means something powerful in my view. Maybe something in you has been resting too long and needs to wake up. Or maybe you need rest. Even leopards sleep. Even powerful things need downtime. I forget this constantly and then wonder why I'm falling apart.
What does it mean to see a climbing leopard?
Climbing is an ambition, going higher, getting above everything. Leopards drag their kills up into trees so nothing can steal from them. What in your life needs to be elevated? Protected by taking it somewhere higher? A leopard with cubs is fierce protective energy. This dream is a sign like, I will destroy anything that threatens what I love. Mama bear stuff but make it leopard. And don't dismiss the weird stuff. Leopard in your bathroom. Leopard wearing shoes. Leopard sitting at your kitchen table eating porridge (like the 3 bears). Dreams get strange because they're trying to get your attention. The bizarre parts might be the whole point.
How do I figure out what MY specific leopard dream means?
Here's the truth. Nobody can tell you exactly what your dream means. Not me. Not a dream dictionary. Not some random website. Your dream came from your brain for your life. But I can tell you what works for me. Write everything down immediately. Before you even pee. Before coffee. Just grab your phone and dump it all out. Colors sounds feelings what happened before what happened after. All of it. You'll forget half of it within an hour otherwise. Then sit with how it felt. The emotion is huge. Fear points one direction. Peace points another.
Last things I want to say…
Trust yourself okay? You probably already know what the dream was about deep down. You might be hoping someone else will confirm it so you don't have to deal with it. But you know. The leopard came to you for a massive reason, think about that power you hold inside is what I am thinking this dream really means.
