The reason I say this is that's your subconscious doing its job - piling up everything up. A haystack in a dream is not a straightforward dream from my experience. Each piece of staw is you working on something harder to make it work, when you are carrying the weight of the whole haystack on your back. In my view the haystack is compressed work. It is the physical pull of labour that is done - stacked, baled, and waiting. You grew it, you cut it, you dried it. And now it sits there being super big while you stand in front of it wondering what the hell to do next.

Well, the first thing I need to say is, that's you, that's your life right now. The haystack is everything you haven't dealt with yet. Think about what a haystack actually is. Individual staw pieces - a thousand separate pieces of something that was once living - pressed together into a single overwhelming chunk. Every conversation you had. Every decision you slept on.
