Eyelashes Dream Meaning

In more than two decades of writing these dreams, I move away from what eyes mean per say but more about the eyelash and the eyesight. I often think in a dream it is about the third eye, seeing things that you can’t see. I often as well find these dreams are normally about not being seen by someone, this could be in childhood or it could be that you are seen but distorted. The things that come to my mind is the fact that sometimes we have to be the villain in someone elses story.

I have learned that the eye dream does not happen for no reason. The eyes is about the veil between this world and the other that then becomes a little more open. And eyelashes are one of those weirdly thin places. If someone is putting fake eyelashes on you or you are wearing those eyelashes this dream is about looking out but something could be locked.  I started to notice something as well in looking deeply into this dream, eyelash dreams tend to happen around the time someone is either opening to spirit communication for the very first time or closing their eyes to it. That pattern is supported by what my folklore books say,  that eyelashes, unlike other parts of the body. 

In many older cultures, the eye was the most spiritually active organ, it is the site of "evil eye" thought in Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Latin American folk cultures, where a look could be spiritually powerful. This could also be for good or ill. 

The eyelash to me could be energy and spiritual insight. From my perspective i've come to think of the eyelash as your spiritual filter, the thing that decides and oftentimes below your conscious awareness. 

What does it mean to dream of false eyelashes?

Older dream books that I have warn of false coverings worn too long or too tight, of a mask. If the eyelashes look good or not is also important. If someone is putting on false eyelashes then this can be connected to something forgotten, maybe also people are not seeing you for what you are. If the false eyelashes appear uncomfortable, clumsy, or peeling away in a dream, I think there is something that other people can’t see, or that you are viewing things differently. 

And from a mediumship standpoint, I do think this is associated with a desire to see someone,  a lost friend, an estranged lover, or a version of you that has been created by someone that is not true.

What does it mean to dream of eyelashes fallen out?

This is by far the most common eyelash dream asked about, and it comes with real emotional weight. Clients often come out of it disturbed long after the details fade. In folk symbolism, loss of hair and lashes represents vulnerability, and sometimes premonition, old customs in many cultures interpreted sudden hair loss (in waking life or in dreams) is a sign that a person "s vital energy was drained faster in spiritual work. This is a very old, very practical piece of folk wisdom. In my experience, dreams about losing eyelashes usually happen when a person is feeling more vulnerable than usual, grieve, go through a major transition, recuperate from illness, or just plain tired. 

What does it mean to dream of long eyelashes?

To see unusually long, full healthy eyelashes are connected to life, fertility and favor, that is, that abundance in this tiny, delicate organ mirrors abundance elsewhere in the dreamer's life.

As a medium I often see this dream come along with a real opening in spiritual awareness: someone starting meditation for the very first time, a return to a faith tradition or simply regaining trust in their own intuition after some dry spell. In this reading the lashes are not just protecting the eye but framing it as something to celebrate. If the dream is joyful instead of strange, I tell clients take it at face value - your perception is sharper and something in you wants to be seen.

What I come back to after years of this work is that the symbols in dreaming, whether you read them in folklore, psychology or through mediumship, are generally gentler and more instructing than we think. 

Eyelash dreams are really just about defining the line between your inner world and your outer world and how much you allow in, how much you allow show, and how people see you.
