Dream About Someone Having Cancer?

Yes, I am not going to deny that this is a scary dream. If the sign or symbol of Cancer appears in your dream this can freak you out.  

I want to start honestly, because this is one of the dreams people bring to me with real fear in their voice. If someone you know (or don't) tells you that you they have Cancer this can bring up may worries. If it is someone very close like your own parents, child, grandparents or partner it is not normally the future but more about the relationship you have with them.

As I said above I feel it's important to say plainly: a dream like this is not a diagnosis, and isn't a prediction. But I believe, after 30 years or so sitting with dreams like this,  that a cancer dream in the language of being worried about someone. Most often it is a metaphor for something growing in an in some area of your life that you haven't been looking at too closely, it is rarely about the person.

If the person in your dream is poorly, or going to hospital for treatment then this is about treating what is going on in your relationship. I watched a Neflix documentry yesterday where a women lied to her friends and partner about having cancer, if this occurred in your dream then this means you need to overcome some toxic problems in life. It could be work or something which is on your mind.

What does it mean to dream of someone telling you they have cancer in a dream?

I know that may sound a bit barmy but Cancer is one of the more deeply emotional zodiac signs, so when the word (no matter the context) appears in a dream, I believe it may well be asking you to reflect on how you are navigating this news inside a dream, I want to add an interesting point about this dream is that someone telling you they have cancer is about making sure you are focused on your own value to that relationship. It could also mean in my older dream books that someone needs your help, even just emotionally.

Who had cancer in the dream?

The person who told you they had cancer in the dream is important. If it was a friend it is about looking at the friendship and seeing what your friend needs, in life. If it is a relative then that can signal spiritually you are worried about them. Cancer is a gradual disease, a steady but often invisible progression until it overruns its confines. Like the disease, I know it grows inside you without your even knowing it's even there.

In all the research I have done, even though that word "cancer"  doesn't show up in Scripture (since cancers have only been identified in modern times), I believe there is much to learn from this dream. Also, since the cancer is described only as a slow, hidden suffering, there is a connection to bleeding in Mark 5:25-34. She has been plagued with the ailment for twelve years, which costs her all her wages to the doctors, without any healing result. He, reaches toward Jesus, and by touching his cloak, resulting in a healing sensation within her body. That is what I was saying before about this dream being about “healing” the mind.

So what's the simple meaning of this dream?

I believe a dream about someone having cancer is asking you to look honestly at something that's been growing quietly for too long, in a relationship, a worry, or a part of yourself you've been avoiding. Scripture in my research basically asks for reaching out, for calling on others, for treating a long, quiet suffering as something worth addressing directly rather than enduring alone. I feel that's the real invitation underneath this dream, whatever form it took for you.
