Colors Dream Meaning

Many of you have contacted me about dreaming of certain colours, and in my spiritual books dreams of colors are associated with spiritual focus. I want to run over what the coolers actually mean folklore wise and my opinion on what this dream means for you and your life going forward.

The first thing I am going to raise is that colors spiritually are found in tarot. I know you are wondering why I am even saying this but as tarot dates back You may be asking yourself the reason I'm saying this but since tarot dates from the 15th century long before modern color psychology had a name, the masters and mystics who created these cards knew something very important - that color communicates with the soul in ways words can't.

A tarot deck colors every card intentionally. The High Priestess's deep blues whisper of intuition and of the subconscious. The fiery yellows of The Sun radiate joy, clarity and divine energy. The reds of the Emperor represent power, passion and will. They were not random selections. They were a dream in pigment, a visual language.

And that is what colors are, in my view a dream.  This explains why the color dream is notnormal. It is ancient. It is spiritual. If you ever dream in color - which many of us do - your mind is communicating in the earliest symbolic language known to man. Same language the tarot has known.

Red dreams - If you dream of red this spiritually can be a warning. Red runs through the cards of Tower the Emperor and The suit of Wands in The tarot. This is the colour which means force and overcoming resistance. If red is in your dream color, something is calling for action in you. Orange - to me 1) this normally appears when we are blocked. And, 2) this is Hoodoo color to unblock something in life. In dreams during worry, when two versions of you pull in opposite directions. The orange in dreams is normally at the edge of transformation - the moment before self releases. Seeing the color orange dream means you're making more progress on your own change than you realise.

Yellow dreams - I always think of lemons and the sour taste it is about, are sharp, clear - almost clinical. Tarot I see yellow in the Fool going into The unknown, The Magician at The zenith of his will, The Sun at its highest point. I feel that to dream in yellow is accessing your own clarity. If you see a yellow item such as a daffodil this means there could be a focus on the truth. But if that yellow in your dream is harsh, overexposed, blinding - it's your subconscious warning you that you're overthinking something that you can fix with action.

Green dreams: are connected to nurture and to the earth. The Empress and The Pentacles are green in The tarot, showing what is real and what grows. A green dream in my view - does not becomes a sort of urgent problem. It reminds you that something is growing in your life. I like to think of this as taking root  (becoming) and your job is not to rip it up.
Blue dreams are about being rather heavy. They are still there when you wake up. Places blue in The tarot are the High Priestess. Seeing blue in your dream means your emotional body is trying to tell you something your waking self has been too busy hearing. And the deeper the blue, the longer it has been waiting.

Purple and Violet: are what I call spiritual sights in ordinary dreams. The tarot reserves these colors for figures of real spiritual authority. A violet dream is a marker that somewhere in your consciousness, something is reorganizing itself and the dream is the only place quiet enough to hear it.

White: In a dream, white feels different from any other color. It is not warm or soft. It is not comfort - it is clarity without all the frills. White appears at The absolute beginning and absolute end - the Fool before his first step - Death before his banner in the next world in the tarot. To dream in white means to stand at a real crossroads. The slate is not clean, to me, it means this has been emptied deliberately. What you put back matters.

Black: Mystery traditions saw black as the primordial state from which everything arises. What the cards can not yet show you is what the tarot has to offer. If your dream is dark, if you are in blackness, you are not lost. Now you are in the space between what was and what has not yet arrived. The dream is asking you whether you can live with not knowing.
Gold is scarce in dreams: When it appears - in light, in objects or even in air quality - it is recognised. Not happiness, not excitement! Recognition. Gold is placed in the tarot upon completion, upon mastery, when a soul is fully committed to its purpose. A gold dream does not come your way often. When it arrives it confirms something you know but have been hesitant to claim.

Silver dreams: this means things are going to be good. The tarot links silver to the Moon, to the unconscious, to the intelligence acting beneath reason. A dream in silver wants you to figure nothing out, I think this is asking you to stop. To feel the rhythm beneath your life your waking mind cann't hear. Silver is ancestral in a dream. You carry memory that belongs to more than just you.
