Black Widow Dream Meaning

When you dream of a black widow it is about dark energy entering your dream state. Entering your thoughts. I am not going to lie, there’s something about the black widow spider that makes me a bit scared, especially when she pops up in real life. I am grateful I don't live in a country that has them, but we do have false widows and yes, I have been bitten by one.

This Spider got her name from the way in which the female that at times eats the male after mating. I know a bit gross. This particular act of mystery as well as dread can show us the consuming dynamics of grief, that may seem like it is wrong on all levels. The very name "Black Widow" makes us feel a sense of loss, particularly when it's used in the context of a lady that lost her partner. A MASSIVE reminder of the grief that could accompany such a loss.

So, in our dream state (and I have wrote this before if you read my work or books) spiders are normally astral beings. And, the reason we don't like them (in this world) is that they eat auras. I don't know if this is the shine of her body, or just the way she moves. Could be the silence or the way she builds a world out of threads nobody else can see. It is like she’s holding a truth most of us avoid. I also feel this is like black widow energy, dark energy that you are fighting in your dream.

Why did I dream of a black widow spider?

As I said before this could be about a “toxic relationship” A black widow dream is not about fear it’s about truth. It’s the part of you that’s done being quiet, done being overlooked, done being drained by people who don’t understand the weight you carry. When the black widow appears on its own (or a single black widow) in your dream, she’s a walking messenger who knows you’ve been pushing down feelings you’re afraid to say out loud. She comes in soft and sometimes very silent but she carries the energy of a shift that’s overdue. At times, God allows the shadow to show up because you’ve ignored the signs in life.

Symbolically, the black widow says:

• You’re stronger than what’s been trying to break you.
• You’ve grown out of something you’re still holding onto - maybe a relationship
• You need to make sure things in life are straightforward.

Is this a good or bad dream?

I feel it is good but not 100%. The reason I say this is that I feel this is about shadow energy. It is about power you didn’t realise you had, and the things you’ve been quietly surviving. In dreams and spiritual symbolism, the black widow isn’t here to destroy, she’s here to clear away what’s been draining you. She shows up in the dreams when you’ve tried to be small for too long, when you’ve been tangled in all the stuff in life like relationships, or responsibilities, and the crazy thing is her bite, symbolically, is the shock that wakes you up.The moment you stop pretending everything is fine. To me, she is a teacher of boundaries. The black widow is not aggressive by nature, she’s protective. She doesn’t go walking out to look for conflict; she creates distance.

Some relationsips are difficult to reconcile and some people will never forgive you. You can apologise for your mistakes, you are able to continue caring, but that does not change reality: The door is closed. This is the whole point of the black widow dream. Let’s take for example what the black widow does. It kills. Yes I know that is totally off the wall in terms of what you thought this dream could mean. When you dream about a black widow, it could serve as a red flag about a toxic relationship in your life. The female black widow is black with red or orange pattern and the males are normally brown. The weird thing about this is that black widows have glue like webs, so for me, this means you are stuck in something in life. We know that black widows are venomous, so that means there maybe something or someone “toxic” in your life.

What is the spiritual meaning of seeing a black widow crawling on you?

Just like a black widow traps its prey in her web (like other spiders), you might be caught up in a situation that drains you. Seeing the black widow crawling or just in her web is a sign to look at your relationships more carefully. Who takes more than they give? Who leaves you feeling tired instead of energized? Watching yourself fall into this trap is what this dream is all about. The darkness of this experience is unimaginable. So in my view, the pure reason of your dream is that the black widow crawling over your body may represent change. A bit like a colleague dumping their work on you. Or a friend who only calls when they need something or that toxic nightmare boyfriend/and or girlfriend. Yes, it is a sign.

What does it mean to be bitten by a black widow in your dream?

This reminds me of spider man. It is about a gift in life. Think about how spiderman was bitten. I think this dream is about panic and also stress in your existing life. To see a black widow in your dream might mean you're close to beating a fear that's held you back. Black widows are one of the most feared spiders out there. And, we all know their bite is venomous, so we totally avoid them! So when one shows up in your dream, it could mirror something you've been avoiding in real life. Maybe you've been scared of speaking up in meetings or saying what you really feel in a situation. To see someone else being bitten by a black widow can indicate wisdom coming from places you didn't expect.

Spiders are clever in my view, my son got bit by a false widow that lived in my conservatory (you will know what this looks like if you watch my social media videos) and what does this mean in your dream? Seeing a child or family member bitten by a black widow can mean you have permission to stop feeling crappy about yourself. If you would like people to change their view of you, to let you off the hook, to accept you have grown, and you're a much better person today is all in your head. The fixation all over someone’s forgiveness has much more to do with your own personal fear as well as self esteem than it does with wanting to spend time with people that don’t really feel the same way. 

What does it mean if the black widow was chasing you?

If she was chasing you during your dream - something in your waking life wants your attention. It might be a relationship that feels out of sorts, a responsibility that’s making you feel stressed, or a truth that you keep pushing aside. The chase in my view is about running away from stuff. In real life black widows don't "chase" you. They sort of run around silent. 

What does it mean to step or kill a black widow in a dream?

Stepping on a black widow is about fighting back. Killing something before it kills you is my thoughts here. Now, in my experience spiders scare me big time and as black widows have that nasty poison I often see these dreams happen when you are letting people walk all over you. Something in you finally snapped.

And, sometimes the best move is no move at all. There's also a warning here. Black widows hide in shadows. They're hard to spot until they want to be seen. I feel someone around you might be doing something that is not right. It could be someone you trust. Like a friend who turns out not so trustworthy. Watch for signs over the next few weeks. I am a great believer in saying our gut knows before your head catches up.

What is the biblical meaning of a black widow spider?

The biblical meaning of this dream is complex. It is about our gifts in life. It doesn't matter how little or how much intelligence we are given; We are to make use of what we have not just for ourselves, but for other people. In Romans 12 we get his list: 6-8 and additionally in 1 Corinthians 12: 8-11. They include:

• Preaching.
• Being helpful
• Teaching
• Encouraging words
• Leadership
• Providing assistance to individuals in distress
• Dealing with the less fortunate.
• Wise counsel
• A Clear comprehension.
• Simple trust
• Healing the sick;

As you read the above I want you to know that God determines who receives what gift and in what quantity. So the very first point we have to understand about these gifts is we can't brag about which ones we've got, or just how much of them we've been given. We didn't earn these gifts, and that is the reason they are known as gifts. Even if you happen to be gifted with the capability to accomplish the miraculous, that doesn't mean you're any worse or better compared to somebody who is gifted with the gift of helping. The spiritual gifts are provided by God in His power and in His manner.


The 2nd thing we ought to understand about spiritual gifts is they are not things we get for our own good. The spiritual gifts which are presented to us must be utilized for the expansion of God's kingdom. Paul wrote these words to the church in Rome relating to the application of spiritual gifts,

When you preach, simply preach God's Message, not anything else, and the black widow is telling us; If you help, simply help, do not do not dominate. In case you teach, stick to your teaching; If you're providing encouraging advice, beware of being bossy; Do not manipulate when you're in charge. When you are called on to assist someone in distress, be sure to keep your eyes open as well as react quickly. In case you work with the less fortunate, do not allow yourself to to become annoyed with them or depressed by them. The gift of seeing a black widow in the bible is intelligence is to be utilized for the benefit of other people, so too are spiritual gifts. When used incorrectly and in the wrong way and in the wrong way.

I also want to let you know that GIFTS may turn into lethal weapons when they're given the wrong people. Seeing this spider in your dream means you have received gifts from God, gifts which are exclusive to you. There are two questions that have to be answered.

What does it mean to dream of a black widow infestation (or lot's of them?)

To have an infestation of black widows in your dream (maybe in your house, at work) or if you see loads of black widows all at once, this means you're about to see yourself more clearly. I do feel due to the way these spiders move i is all about clarity of your inner thoughts. And, yes, in my view these spiders are secretive, they run around in silence. When my son was bitten by a false widow on the foot we had no idea it even did it, as they tend to hide. I am going to follow this on... at times we hide parts of ourselves. The stuff we don't want to look at, normally or things we just don't want to face up to. These are the patterns we pretend aren't there.

Summary

I will be honest I didn't really like writing this dream meaning, I found it difficult and it took me ages. I don't know, maybe this is the energy. Maybe I don't like spiders per say. But, I will say that this is a dream where you have to understand your gifts. When things or life itself knocks you it is important to get back up. I heard something while I was writing this on the TV and the quote has stayed with me all day. Remember life is a game and you are playing it so make sure you don't get too stressed out with stuff.
