Bartender Dream Meaning
Bartender Dream Meaning
In my spiritual work bartenders serve spirits. That is really what I want you to know. I also think a bartender puts away other people's mess. So if one comes along in your dream and you see one, I think some part of you is playing that role in your life right now or wish someone would play it for you.
What does a dream of a bartender really mean?
I have sat with tons of dreams over the years and bartender dreams just seem a little lonely to me, even happy dreams. That was actually my first honest reaction to this one actually. There's something about someone who serves everybody else and then stays behind that counter alone at night.
If you were a bartender in that dream, I think you carry more than people know. You are the one everyone goes to. The friend that listens, that person who "has it together" to pour for the rest of us. But people are really asking how you're doing back. That was my clue with a reader once, she had a dream where she was bartending a huge party and everyone was laughing with her, but when she walked away for a second she was completely invisible.
If someone else was serving you in the dream, that flips the script a little. I think that version is more about just needing taken care of once. Maybe you get tired of pouring for people and some of you wants something handcuffed instead.
And if that bartender dream was overly dramatic fights, arguments at the bar (someone cut off) a spilled a drink - I see the Five of Cups tarot card. That's the card of spilled emotion, of grieving something small but real. Not end of the world, just real loss you haven't allowed yourself to feel yet.
Try to also look at the color the drink the bartender is serving. Amber or gold drinks in the dream generally represent warmth, comfort or nostalgia for simpler times. Red drinks usually signify passion or an argument under the surface. Clear drinks (gin or vodka) I think those are moments of clarity, a bit like seeing a situation for what it is. But whatever was dark or dim lit behind the bar, that was my honest read every time, that usually means you're keeping something secret even from yourself.
In old village pubs and ale houses were more than a drink shop. It was where news spread, disputes settled and where the man pouring the drinks knew more about everybody than the vicar did. The person at that bar had some strange power sort of secrets no one else heard. I believe that old role is still inside this dream symbol. To have a bartender in your dream who is more than a stranger pouring drinks (they're a secret keeper in my view) and I think the dream is asking you who you trust with yours.
This is super interesting that I cam across in my older books, to see a random person buy you a beer in a dream, either luck or help is coming your way from somewhere you did not expect. Also I feel that a spilled drink in a dream is a warning (not a disaster) to be a little more careful with something you're juggling. In a dream, not being able to get the bartender's attention - waving, ignored, and is associated with feeling ignored in a group or a relationship in your real life.
Really, I think bartender dreams come about when you're either way too busy looking after everybody else or just wish someone would look after you the way you take care of them. That is my honest read nearly every time I have this dream. Being the person people come to isn't wrong. But bartenders come home at night too, and even they need some help pouring once in a while.
If your dream felt nice and it was a good experience, I believe you're in a place where your relationships are feeding you instead of draining you. If it was tense or lonely dream then please ask yourself if you are the only one pouring right now.
