Aquarium dream meaning
Aquarium dream meaning
There is two sort of dreams here. A fish tank which I cover here and also a marine aquarium. It is about not knowing what is going on in terms of the dream. It is time to think about this when you have this dream.
This is about starting to doubt things in life. The fish is about focus on the light, and find out whos doing what. This is dream about emotions. If you see nemos or exotic fish in the dream this is about things in life that are a bit crazy, and it is time to sort things out. There is another layer to dreaming of an aquarium, an especially wierd dream image. While most aquarium owners love fish (in real life) there is something about the glass and this dream reminds me of that film nemo.
In dreams, water we often see in our dreams reflects many things in our waking lives: It can be connected to our own emotions. This can mean there is some doubt, it could reveal how open and available you actually are and your emotional wellings. The good news is that a clear aquarium is a positive dream, I know it may point toward a level of vulnerability and the capacity for trust.
Many who manage their feelings "in-house," while keeping the big emotion outside, have had this dream as well. A version of this dream has been known to come to those who keep their feelings under lock and key and not let them loose.
Is an aquarium a good or bad sign?
Is this not a bad dream, at some point when someone has come to me with this dream it is about endings. It is about focusing on what is good in life. The state of the aquatic environment and the behavior of the fish are far more telling in the dream, rather than just seeing them. A situation where the tank has a hazy surface or broken glass, or where a fish that isn't even very small or exotic starts or is poorly, or even show signs of dying, are indicators that there are feelings of uncontrolled boundaries that are not being upheld at the necessary emotional level. Again, in my view, spiritually this is about grabbing hold of a narrative in life. And, this is about wanting someone to listen in life.
What does the Bible say about fish and water?
There's a lot in scripture about fish being distinct things, and it's worth separating them before we put them back together. In the Bible, water is (as I have said before) is connected with purification as well as with the mysterious (sometimes violent) flow of the spirit. It is connected with creation in, and with fish, this is a powerful symbol. Peter and his fellow disciples set out fishing late at night without success. Jesus suggests they try a second time. Their nets begin to tear when they catch an overflowing number of fish. When Jesus calls them away from the work, he then says: go henceforth ye shall be... fishers of men'. But there is another, harsher side of fish. "So fish which have been taken in a net at the place where it was set suddenly died" (9:12). I don't think this reading applies to every aquarium dream, but I would certainly refer to it if it felt like it was there: tense narrative going on here. Outside of the Scriptures, one of the keu things is that Chinese folklore legend of the carp is in the Yellow River that swims against the flow until it reaches a waterfall, the " Dragon's Gate." Most fish swim around or turn back at that point, but the one that keeps swimming against the currents in the river even at that point is rewarded with becoming a dragon.
The funny thing I have also read is a second, feng shui wisdom going on here. To the Chinese, a fish also symbolizes the movement of money, in a way, since running water represents prosperity, while a fish, in Chinese and both Mandarin and Cantonese, is is close to an expression meaning "surplus." So, if an aquarium is clean in your dream and well taken care of, in feng shui terms, it can be one of the more powerful lucky symbols one can put in their home. I find both of these things really useful, used side by side, this is why I think the dream is really good.
What does it mean to dream of being in the tank?
If you are inside the tank in your dream, then this is about making sure you are focused, it could mean that you feel, or feel like, others are watching you or even your feelings in a situation, like something not necessarily bad. This dream is about things that feel emotional around you. This is due to the water being around you.
What does a broken or leaking aquarium mean?
If the glass is fragile, water spills, and when it happens it can be a symbol of an intense limit in some boundary and something has reached its breaking point. But for me at least it isn't seen as catastrophe. I read it as release. The feelings that have been contained finally spill out whether you wanted to or not. That leaves the big question: Does glass-shattering mean relief, or does it mean loss? Each has its own meaning. Each speaks to the tension that was built up under the glass.
What is my take on the meaning of an aquarium dream?
In my view, if this dream it showed up for you, I believe an aquarium in dreams sort of point to the relationship between what you feel and what you allow other people to see. When I look at scripture this offers you two honest possibilities: a net that gathers which means good luck and is meant to be let go into something larger, or a net that closes in without warning.
Folklore offers a third, focus and that is a fish that stays exactly where it's placed, quietly gathering strength, until the moment it's ready to swim against the current and become something more than it was. I think your aquarium dream is asking you which of those three feels closest to true for you right now.
