As I have said above, Valentine was an old Latin word for "strong and healthy." So if you're named Valentine, you're basically saying "the strong one." Pretty stange, right? The name comes from a man called St. Valentine who lived in old Rome. The emperor then banned marriage of soldiers because he thought they would fight better if they had no wife.
