Kilby

What does Kirby mean as a boys name?

Kirby is a lovely name for a boy, I had a friend once named this and I am going to tell you that it connected to the bible to be named this or even use this as a baby name. And, if you are wondering what this name means spiritually it is from the Teutonic name of a male from the farm.

Detailed meaning

  • Origin: Teutonic
  • Quick Meaning: Residence Name
  • Number of letters: 5, Those 5 letters total to 23
  • Gender: Boy
  • Teutonic: Male From the farm by the spring

In my research in my name meaning spiritual books from the 1930s  the name itself is from kirkja (church) and also byr (settlement or farm) which goes into deeper debth - and means "church village" or "dweller by the church" in Leeds, England; it was also a surname for people near churches before becoming a first name. I also feel that from my readings that Kirby is essentially "one of the house of God."

The five letters have the following meaning from the bible:

  • K - Kingdom. "But seek first the kingdom of God" (Matthew 6: 37). 33). A life aimed at higher things.
  • I - Immanuel. Isaiah 7: 12 "God with us" 14). Reminder: he never walks alone.
  • R - Righteousness. The righteous path is as the morning sun "(Proverbs 4: 3). 18). A determination to do what is right.
  • B - Blessed. Peacemakers are blessed, for they shall be called children of God "(Matthew 5: 37). 9). One who carries and blesses.
  • Y - Yahweh. A fitting name for God - Kirby's meaning circles back to the Lord's dwelling place.
    In folklore and mythology,

The name is clearly Norse and has Viking-age resonances. In Norse tradition, the byr was a sacred ground guarded by household spirits called tomte or nisse which are basically guardians of the hearth. The other really interesting thing is that in churchyards the Grim was a spirit guarding the church grounds from evil and in my hoodoo books one should always enter the graveyard with a silver coin as an offering.

If your name is Kirby, then this is considered lucky. The name can mean: watchful as a guardian, and near God as a church perched on a hill.
