Burke boys name meaning

Like me you are probablly wondering what this name means spiriutally. Burke, from my older folklore books is a variant of the Irish and English surname which is said to come from Anglo Normans.

It also means “fortified hill”. Its variants are Bourke, de Burgo, Burgh and De Burgh. Many Irish and English people who moved to Quebec and the regions of Canada opted to make some changes in the spelling of the name to Bourque.

Few names have surprised me as much as Burke after over fifteen years working with names, sound vibration and letter energy in my own spiritual practice. When I first came across the name in meditation I anticipated something historically, in that, it carries shadows.

But what I felt was different? I think Burke is a word for transformation. I have discovered with clients named Burke usually a pattern; somebody who has walked through tough stuff and emerged much stronger than ever. The name has an earthly, grounded sound when spoken aloud. Speak slowly ....Burke. It begins soft and rounded and concludes with a decisive, clean cut. To me that sound journey is like a soul moving from soft to clear. In my spiritual practice I tell people a name isn't sentence. It's a seed. What grows from it depends upon the soil of the soul which carried it.

When I break down a name, I work with the sounds and letters as carriers of energy separately. What I feel sitting with each part of Burke:

Bu - To me, "Bu" contains the energy of beginnings/enclosure, as a seed wrapped In dark earth. To me the letter B has always represented duality and shelter - two chambers - similar to the heart. The U is the vessel - the open cup which receive. Together I believe "Bu" means "protected beginning" - a soul beginning life concealed at times, gathering strength before it's seen.
R - the R in The center of Burke is for me The engine of The name. R vibrates with raw life force, willpower, and forward motion. It's in the center of this name, similar to a hearth fire. I believe that this is the reason a lot of the Burkes I have known are such quiet individuals - the fire inside isn't on show.
Ke - "Ka" is interesting to me. The letter K means open hand, key, release of stored power. The last E is expression, communication and freedom. So I read "Ke" as the key which opens once the seed of "Bu" bursts through - in my practice. I take "Ke" to mean release, unlocking and truth told.

Read together, the spiritual history of Burke for me personally is this: A guarded beginning an inner fire and a last unlocking. A name beginning in shadow and ending in light;
