Wombat

Do you see a Wombat interrupting your thoughts sometimes?

The image of a Wombat in your thought means that you need to be aware of returning to your family as soon as your work is done.

The wombat is a furry animal with a thick and stout body found in many parts of Australia.

The color of its skin varies from a sandy Brown to grey to black. It has sharp front teeth like the rat which it uses to dig burrows in the earth. It lives in places where the earth is soft and it is easy to dig.

The Wombat symbolism stands for:

  • Homely.
  • Stability.
  • Self confidence.
  • Security.
  • Reliability.
  • Responsibility.
  • Family.
  • Unseen.
  • Secretive.

The Wombat is a nocturnal animal although it comes out of its burrow when the days are cooler or overcast. Normally it cannot be seen but its presence can be felt by the cubic droppings it leaves behind when it comes out.

Most of the time it remains inside its burrow. The symbol of a Wombat reminds you of the comforts of home.

Sometimes the Wombat travels almost two kilometers away from its home in search of food. But even after going that distance, it comes back to its own burrow.

This symbolism of the Wombat tells you to that you are homesick and would always prefer to come home after a day’s work.

The Wombat is completely herbivorous and feeds mainly on herbs, roots and grass. As the diet of the Wombat consists of a high amount of fiber, it takes a long time to digest its food due to a slow rate of metabolism.

The wombat takes almost fourteen to fifteen days to digest the food in its stomach completely. This enables it to remain inside the burrow, away from the heat of the ground outside for a longer time without having to feed itself.

The Wombat is very defensive of its family and its home, and defends both very aggressively. This symbolism teaches you to defend your family and home with all the means at you’re your disposal, for they are your most sacred possessions.

The Wombat does not have any offensive weapons to take the battle to its predators. The rear portion of the body is made of cartilage which acts as shield against any attack from the rear. The Wombats are normally very slow, but can pick up sudden bursts of speed when threatened.

Dingos, or wild dogs, and Tasmanian Devils attack the slow moving Wombats and try to kill them for food.

Whenever attacked by these predators, the Wombat jumps into the nearest hole in the ground and presents its rear side to the predator. The rear cartilage prevents the predator from harming the Wombat.

The Wombat comes to the surface at night when they have to search for food. They are very nervous and when alarmed by any human being, they can either bite you in self defense or charge you and bowl you over.

During these occasions you can incur injuries from bites or from the fall after being bowled over.

The Wombat or symbol can appear in your thoughts when

  • You are feeling threatened.
  • You are away for too long.
  • You are missing your home.
  • You are missing your family.
  • You have not eaten lately.

Call upon the Wombat symbol when

  • You lacking any defense to ward off your enemies.
  • You want to return home to your family as soon as possible.
  • Your want to defend your home and family which is under threat.
