Association with Celestial Forces
With their bright plumage and their ability for mimicry of sound, the Parakeet has been viewed as a messenger of the gods. Their ability to communicate with humans as well their flight to the heavens serves as bridge to getting messages across each plane.
In Buddhism, the Parrot is perched on the shoulder of Guan Yin, a deity of mercy and compassion. Here the parrot symbolizes loyalty.
Parrots mostly symbolize solar forces, as its bright colors are gleaming in the sun.
Parakeets in alchemy
