In modern age, the tribal emblem of fishermen is the bird cormorant.

The Cormorant is good at catching fish; hence fishermen choose them as their emblem. The cormorants are excellent swimmers and divers.

They are commonly found all over the world especially near the coastal areas, rivers, lakes... Over 30 species of cormorant present in this world. In some places cormorant is called as the great cormorant. They are most well-known as fisher birds for fisherman in China and Japan.

The color of the cormorant is black so they also called as black cormorant. The cormorant dives to go deep under water. In order to stay under water they have to make themselves heavy by swallowing pebbles. They have to go underwater to catch fish for their food.

Once they catch the fish, it is stuck in their craw. Fisherman can extract the fish from the bird’s craw or it can be left alone to swallow its meal. This behavior is not common for birds and as a symbol as an animal spirit this indicates a positive inclination for working together.

When you see the cormorant in a vision or a dream, take it as a sign that you should be more open to working with other people. Consider others that have asked you for help but you have not complied. If you are able to help them, then this bird is a symbol that you should. Possible, by helping others in need at this time, you will be rewarded at a later time.

The fishing technique of cormorant is excellent. They are skilled at maneuvering through murky waters and finding fish even at great depths. Not only that, they can literally swim under water. Often, they will swim alongside small boats and help fisherman at their task.

They will swim under water and then pop back up when they have a fish in their mouth. This nature of the bird is considered to be very giving. They can signify prosperous times ahead. They can also indicate that a negative period in your life is going to be overcome.

When the cormorant comes to you as a guide, it is there to it give encouragement. It says that you need to engage in a new opportunity which you may think that you are unable to do. Because this bird is quite intelligent it is a representation that you need to use your own wit and skill to reach a goal or achieve a task.

While this bird can be a spirit that comes to you, sometimes in times of need you may wish to call on the cormorant when you are feeling lost or out of touch with your own goals. The cormorant can teach you how to be more self-reliant and to use your own wisdom to attain your goals.
