Black Widow Spider Spiritual Meaning

To see a black widow spider (or a false widow) spider is spiritually in my experience a lucky omen. If you had a dream about this spider it means something different. It means that for a long time you have been hiding, we learned about this in my mediumship class in the early 1990s. Regardless of dreaming and seeing this spider in real life, it is about trust (trusting others) and transformation.

If this spider just appears (out of no-where) then it can be a little shocking, it is about the fact there is some deep problems but the outcome will be good news. I know that might feel a bit odd to see this spider around your home, even strange (given how creepy they are) but in older books that I have read (folklore) it is a positive omen. Seeing a black widow in the house spiritually is a warning, it's not the sort of warning that you should be super worried about, it is the type of stuff that you need to have your wits about you.

What is the spiritual meaning of a black widow spider?

The spiritual meaning is deeper than danger. In many traditions the black widow represents feminine power, creativity and fate but honestly I don’t believe all this, I feel (that I have channelled) that this is about a sort of warning but at the sam time luck. The black widow carries the energy of transformation through destruction. Some thing has got to end. It could be that you have been holding onto something - a relationship, a hope, a version of yourself - that is slowly poisoning you. 

The image of a Black Widow spider in your thoughts means that you are feeling disturbed by some relationship with a person in your real life. The Black Widow spider is found in Canada, USA, Europe, Central Asia and China. It is glossy in color and the female has either two bright red spots or the bright red figure of an hour-glass on its underside. These red markings are normally not visible from the top and sometimes the Black Widow spider is mistaken for a different species of spider.

Once, my daughter got bitten by a false widow and I freaked out. If you are bitten spiritually this is like a wake up call. Think about this: the black widow mates and then destroys. It is not cruelty that she does, it is her nature. And even though I have already said this is lucky just be aware that somebody in your circle is doing just that at this time. Is there some one who came in really warm lately? Too much attention? Who needs your time, resources, loyalty or silence? If you look at the gut feeling you have: finding the words it can no longer say out loud in the black widow dream.

Was it a colour spider?

If you see a deeply, richly black - this is betrayal at close quarters. Family, a partner, someone who can’t be totally trusted. If you see this inside your house then that person is close to you, outside your house (like in your garden) then this is a good sign. A black widow with red markings is connected with the tarot card the King of Swords, my nanny always told me that. in that she radiates this sort of power and it means you will hold a truth. If you see this outside in the garden this is someone outside your circle. 

And if she was small or you noticed her before she saw you - this is also a good sign. It is all about your intuition being very sharp now.  If she bit you in a dream - do not panic its kind of saying: pay attention, something is moving already. The damage might already be under way but you are super powerful and this is about recovery and boundaries and not prevention.

The web is bigger than the spider.

If you saw her web - that's entanglement. Okay, so this means you got yourself in something already. A situation or a relationship or a promise you should not have made. The black widow weaves her web in corners where nobody looks. So where are you avoiding looking in your life?

The male is almost half the size of the female and grey or brown in color instead of being black like the female. The marking on the underside of the males is yellow or white in color instead of being red. The poison of the female spider is three times more powerful than of males. Just like other spiders, the Black Widow spider is also very territorial and does not allow even its mate to live near its territory.

Any woman, who is suspected of causing the death of her husband by some means or other, is called a Black Widow. The symbolism is that the woman is wearing black to mourn the death of her husband for which she herself is responsible which is very undesirable.

The symbolism of a Black Widow spider in your thoughts means that you are suffering from a strained relationship with someone in real life, and you are uncertain about its future. It may also mean that you want to end the relationship and get on with your life.

It can also mean that you are resenting the domination of another person of the same sex and want to overcome the influence the person has on you by some act where your intentions of removing the domination are very hostile.

The solitary life of the Black Widow spider which it leads even after finding a mate and then killing it later, signifies the balance of feminine energy which is both destructive and constructive at the same time.

On the other hand, the symbolism can mean that you are feeling yourself entrapped by the power exerted over you by another person and you are desperately trying to find a way out of the situation.
