The Lemon Verbena has several names that include Cedron, Yerba Louisa and Lemon Beebrush.

The herb belongs to the family Verbena which originates in various parts of South America including Uruguay, Peru, Chile, and Argentina. The herb has various uses including being a culinary ingredient for bringing that lemon flavoring to various foods especially the beverages.

In Morocco, a special tea is prepared while including the Lemon verbena leaves in order to give lemon flavor. The herb is a common additive to the herbal medicines that are used to cure various diseases due to its antioxidant qualities. Lemon verbena is male and has always been linked to element air and planet Mercury.

There is a close similarity between Verbena, and note that they have many similarities but are quite different. They belong to the same family but have different effects. Interchanging the herbs will result in poor results since the verbena is used in love related issues while the Lemon verbena is used in breaking of old conditions and keeping off all undesirable people and things. There are instances where the herb is formulated and put in the sachet so as to initiate the divorce of a couple. This is done in quite a simple way, bringing the photos of the two lovebirds who you want to divorce and putting some Lemon verbena between them. Then tie them in a red piece of clothing and put them in a place where the couples will have to cross. This will sour the relationship and result in a break-up.

The lemon verbena has for a long time been used in preventing the occurrence of bad dreams, purification of the home and lightening the mood of the user. Other people believe that, if placed under the pillow, it will reduce bad dreams or totally eliminate dreams.
